SW 10th & 11th Closed Ongoing After Structure Fire
Posted January 4, 2023 by Streetcar
A church fire Tuesday night at SW 10th & Clay in downtown Portland has 10th and 11th Avenues closed to all traffic on Wednesday, January 4, and Thursday, January 5. The fire has been extinguished but fire officials are keeping the streets closed for investigation and the possibility of a building collapse. A delay in demolition has the adjacent street closed until further notice.
Streetcar service through downtown is being served by TriMet shuttle buses beginning at SW 3rd & Harrison and ending at NW 10th & Northrup. Streetcars are running from NW 23rd Avenue across the Broadway Bridge to OMSI, and then over the Tilikum Crossing to SW 3rd & Harrison and then back. Streetcars are also serving the South Waterfront from S. Lowell & Bond to SW 3rd & Harrison.
Fire officials intend to keep the streets closed at least until Friday, January 6.
