Posted September 16, 2025 by Streetcar
Multnomah County will close the Broadway Bridge to all traffic for six months beginning October 13, which means a significant disruption for Portland Streetcar riders.
The bridge will be closed to all cars, trucks, buses and yes, even streetcars, for the duration of the full bridge deck replacement project. Streetcar riders should be prepared for modified A and B Loop service for the entirety of the project:

Streetcar riders should be prepared for modified A and B Loop service for the entirety of the project:
- Streetcars will serve the eastside via the Tilikum Crossing, turning around on either end of the Broadway Bridge.
- A and B Loop streetcars will operate as one line, going both directions through downtown and the Central Eastside.
- The A Loop stop at NW 9th and Lovejoy will be closed for the duration of the project.
